What is the history and popularity of the app?

350pages belongs to parent company, ZyNet, creator of ZyWeb, an early website builder. In 2006, they launched 350pages, using Web 2.0 technology.

What are the differences to other apps?

The ability to work with each element on the page and customize with easy-to-use tools sets this website builder apart from the others.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

An introductory tutorial is offered and is very unique. Rather than a video, the content is offered in the form of an editable web page so that users can apply the instructions as they learn them.

Users are offered free-format blank templates or customizable template sets. Some are free and others require an upgrade to a paid plan. Once chosen, each element of the page is customizable with very easy-to-use tools.

Most of the tools are intuitive and changes are immediately viewable. The only glitch during testing was an inability to upload images. The instructions provided did not work as described. This reviewer was unable to drag and drop the desired image and the “browse” option was not viewable as described. This may be due to the free account status.

Overall, 350pages works well, but it would benefit users to have a searchable help guide with notes as to what features are unsupported in each version.

How does the registration process work?

Users choose which plan they wish to purchase, provide username, password, email address, first and last names, country, and referral source. Users are then asked if they want to have their own domain name. If “yes” is chosen, the user is redirected to a page for purchasing their domain name for an annual fee of $40.

What does it cost to use the application?

Free plans include one website with 15 pages, 20MB storage, 1GB monthly bandwidth, over 700 customizable graphics, over 700 photos and clipart images, the ability to purchase a domain name, WYSIWYG editor, drag and drop, photo editor, scale graphics and photos in real-time, color themes, and add-ons. The lite plan includes unlimited websites, 60 pages, increased space and bandwidth, domains at a discount, and no advertising. The standard plan offers unlimited pages, more graphics, more space and bandwidth, special customization options, and marketing tools. The lite plan is offered for $4.49/month of $39.99/year and the standard plan at $8.99/month and $79.99/year.
